Flutist, singer, songwriter, environmentally-minded nature/animal lover. I write, arrange, and perform locally (in churches, family-friendly venues, and bluegrass jams) and regionally (with Bill Leslie and Lorica). My own music is a blend of classical, folk, ethnic, and improv using silver flute, Native American flutes, penny whistle, ocarinas, ukuleles, synthesizer, vocals, and whistling. In concert I enjoy sharing stories and anecdotes, some funny, some inspirational, along with my music.

I’m quirky and not because I try to be, compassion-driven, more sensitive than I wish I were, into alternative health and organic foods. As hard as I try not to be, I’m obsessive and easily hijacked by things like my odometer reading. Happiest when I’m walking, writing a song, rescuing an animal or bug, watching the sky, improvising on my flute with other musicians, hearing my cats purr, connecting with people through a meeting of the minds or good ‘ole humor, or making something to give someone. I’m a Christian but never in your face about it. One of my great joys is telling God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit how much I love them. Ps. 73:26 sums me up.

I moved to the mountains of Western N.C. in 2013 and work seasonally for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I’m privileged to meet, greet, and help visitors from all over the world. It is truly an inspiring place to work and I revel in the surrounding beauty anytime I’m there!

However complex my inner life is, I aim to live simply and to follow my unique God-given path wherever it goes.

It’s a beautiful day in the mountains!
